Tenth International Conference on Permafrost (TICOP)

Tenth International Conference on Permafrost will be held 25-29 June 2012 in Tyumen, Russia (www.ticop2012.org). The conference will focus on both arctic, antarctic and alpine permafrost research. The theme of the conference is “Resources and Risks in permafrost regions in a changing world” and refers to both the impacts of a changing world on permafrost and the impact of permafrost on a changing world. It also uses the world “resource”, which, in the host university tradition, relates to permafrost as both an industrial and environmental resource.

    2nd EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON PERMAFROST

    Potsdam, Germany, June 2005

The meeting is organised through the European Science Foundation PACE21 Network programme and is sponsored by the International Permafrost Association. The highly successful first European Permafrost Conference held in Rome in 2001 initiated this series of meetings, and we plan to make Potsdam 2005 as enjoyable and stimulating as Rome 2001. The programme will be fully international, extending beyond Europe to include all present and former permafrost regions of the world. The conference will include oral and poster sessions, opportunities for field excursions, and a lively social programme. The International Permafrost Association will hold a Council Meeting during the Conference. Contributions are invited on all aspects of present day and relict permafrost and frozen ground phenomena. The city of Potsdam offers an excellent conference venue, and with nearby Berlin, a fascinating historical setting. The organising committee looks forward to welcoming you to the second European Permafrost Conference, and to making this a memorable and successful meeting.
