EXCURSION

Organising committee is planning to organise an excursion for the participants of the Conference to the Syktyvkar Timber Industrial Complex to acquaint with ecological activity. The excursion is paid by the organising committee. Cultural program will be proposed.

LANGUAGE

Conference languages will be Russian and English. Organising Committee is planning to promote translation of reports, discussions, questions and answers.

The conference will be held in the Institute of Biology, Komi Science Centre, Ural Division of RAS (Syktyvkar) at 5-8 June 2001.

REGISTRATION FEES

Registration fee for foreign participants is 50$ US. The fee can be paid during registration.

TRAVELLING TO SYKTYVKAR

Syktyvkar is located on 61N 50E and connected with many cities of Russia (including Moscow and S.-Petersburg) by airlines and railway. Time of flight from Moscow or S.-Petersburg to Syktyvkar is 1 h 40 min. Syktyvkar means “City on the coast of the Sysola river”. It is the capital of the Komi Republic, administrative, public, scientific and cultural center. The city is 210 years old. The population of the city is more than 200 thousand people.

ACCOMMODATION

Various levels of accommodation will be offered. Price of the hotel room is 15-30 USD daily and depends on category. Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in hotel restaurant are approximately 20-30 USD. Payments will be received in official currency of Russia - Russian Ruble.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts will be published before the conference.

Abstracts should be not more than 2 pages of A4 format (in English). All margins are 2.5 sm. It is recommended to use Microsoft Word for Windows (versions 5-7). Font - 12 pt, line interval - 1. If your are interested in participating, please prepare your abstracts (2 copies) and send them by March 15, 2001 to the Conference Secretariat by mail:
