Eva-Maria Pfeiffer PhD, Professor of Soil Science at the University
of Hamburg Science interests & Projects: Main fields of research are the study of carbon turnover and methane emissions in wetlands as well as climate related ecological processes of permafrost-affected soils in Siberia and other temperate and subtropical ecosystems. On receiving doctorate from University of Hamburg was a long serving member in Hamburg s Environment Commission, and after her receiving her professorship was engaged as a Scientific Consultant and head of a research group by the Alfred Wegener Foundation for Polar and Marine Research. Since 2002 she is the Director of the Institut of Science and Vice Dean of the Department of Earth Sciences.
