FOREST STATION RESEARCH: METHODS, RESULTS, PROSPECTS

Dear colleague,

We would like to invite you to take part in the work of the international conference “Forest station research: methods, results, prospects” which will be held 15-18 September 2003 in the town of Syktyvkar (Komi Republic, Russia). Theoretical and methodical regulations of organisation of forest station research, results and prospects of studies of composition and functions of forest biogeocenoses will be discussed on the conference. Special attention will be paid to organisation of radioecological station research of forest phytocenoses, problems of global, regional and local monitoring at anthropogenic impact.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

3. Monitoring of forest ecosystems at anthropogenic impact.

PLACES

The Registration of participants and the conference will take place in the Institute of Biology Komi Science Centre, Kommunisticheskaya st., 28, Syktyvkar, Russia)
On 18 September the excursion to Lyal forest ecological station, situated 84 km from Syktyvkar and forest objects launched in the impact zone of the Foresn Timber Complex “Neuzindler Syktyvkar”is planned.

Syktyvkar is connected by airlines and railway with Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The flight time from Moscow to Syktyvkar is 1 h 40 min,a trip by train will take you 27 hours. We ask participants to purchase back tickets on your omn Transport from railway station and from airoport by bus No. 5 till stop “Pedinstitut”

Information

We ask you to confirm in written form, by mail, e-mail or fax till 15 May 2003 your participation in the  Conference. Final conference program will be formed considering obtained confirmations. Nevertheless, materials and abstracts of Your report will be published irrespective of Your presence. Time of plenary report is 20 minutes and oral report 15 minutes. Poster stand size is А-1. We also ask you to send comments to the  project of conference resolution.
